Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

Introduction
The P.B.B.Sc. (N) Programme is of two years duration leading to a degree as Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Purpose
The Purpose of the P.B.B.Sc. (N) programme is to improve undergraduate nursing programme at the post basic level. It is to upgrade the diploma (RGNM) nurses to:

Assume responsibilities as professionals, competent nurses and midwives as basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

Make independent decisions in nursing situation; protect the rights of individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manger in clinical/public health settings.

Duration – Two (2) years full time.

Intake – 60 students per annum.

Medium of Instruction – English

Eligibility –
The candidates should have passed General Nursing and Midwifery course and Registered as Nurse and Midwife of related State Nursing Council.
Candidate’s age limit should be up to 45 years for reserved category and 40 years for open category before 31st July of every year.
Admissions are confirmed subject to satisfactory health status of the candidate.

Admission procedure – Admission based on merit and interview at Institute.

Fees – As per Shikshan Shulk Samiti.

Faculty – Teachers highly qualified in Nursing and Medical Sciences and approved by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

Assessment
Internal Assessment at institute and final examination is conducted by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences every year.

Standard of passing
Fifty percent (50%) marks in both Internal and University examination.

Practical Training
Each student has to undergo the clinical experience prescribed by Indian Nursing Council and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences each year with 95-100% attendance.
