Aim
The aim of Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing Department is to prepare students in developing expertise and in-depth understanding in the field of paediatric nursing, provide nursing care to children of all ages and enable them to function as educator, manager and researcher in the field of paediatric nursing.
Objectives
- Equip the students in developing the knowledge and skills required to respond to health care needs of infants and children and their family in a variety of settings.
- Provide student-cantered teaching and learning in all areas of child care that helps the students to gain confidence in their child health nursing knowledge and skills.
- Prepare the students to assume responsibilities as profession, competent nurses in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services for the children in various age groups.
- Prepare students, how to recognize and manage emergencies in children and enable them how to care for the child as a whole person, including their family.
- Encourage and provide opportunities for students to conduct research and interpret the findings in the areas of child health nursing.
- Encourage students to engage in continuous learning, updated with the latest medical advancements, leading to improved patient care, better clinical decision-making & increased career opportunities in the field of child health nursing.
