Anti-ragging committee

Objectives and functions of Anti-ragging committee

  1. To uphold and comply with the direction of INC and be vigilant on any acts amounting to ragging.
  2. To publicize to all students and prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging.
  3. To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the principal along with punishment recommended for the offenders.
  4. To form anti ragging committee/squads to make surprise visits and take effective steps to prevent ragging.
  5. To oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from students in accordance with the provisions.
  6. To conduct workshop or awareness program to curb the ragging menace and orient the students.
  7. To provide student’s contact address and telephone numbers of committee numbers to receive complaints/distress call.
  8. To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students.
  9. To take all necessary measures for prevention of ragging inside the campus/hostel.
  10. To monitor the functioning of vigilance/squad committee.

Objectives and functions of Vishakha committee

  • To create awareness amongst students about the problems faced by women due to gender issues.
  • To create an environment of gender justice where men and women work together with a sense of personal security and dignity.
  • To create awareness amongst students about this issues related to the youth, girls in particular.
  • To disseminate knowledge about rights and laws related to women.
  • To enhance the self-esteem and self-confidence of girl students, women faculty and staff.
  • To foster decision-making ability in girl students for making informed choices in areas like education, employment and health.
  • To address any issues related to sexual harassment if such a issue arises within the institute and prompt action to be taken.
  • To monitor the functioning of vigilance/squad committee in association with anti-ragging committee squad members.

Activities of Anti-ragging Committee and Vishakha Committee

Anti-ragging committee and vishakha committee has done following activities:

  • Awareness and orientation program on the rules and regulations of disciplinary action, preventive measures and zero tolerance policy related to ragging and reading out objectives and function of the committees to the students present in the meeting.
  • Guidance on the importance of registration in UGC anti-ragging portal and filling up affidavit I and II.
  • Distribution of anti-ragging regulation brochure copy to each class coordinator and mail to each faculty in email.
  • Display of posters, given by UGC, MUHS, contact of committee members and police personal in the main notice board and other relevant space for any distress call.
  • Time to time filling up compliance form of UGC in anti-ragging college ID portal.
  • Availability of anti-ragging booklet/handbook online on our institute website www.mksssbtine.in
  • Each class has poster put up on the classroom wall on information about what is ragging and its implication as per university directives.
  • Conducting meetings of anti-ragging and vishakha committee in the presence of incharge, committee members and all class representatives.
  • Our campus was scrutinized by anti-ragging squad faculty members in hostel and college campus on regularly interval and recorded their observation and finding.
  • All students are asked to fill up affidavit I and II given by UGC by student and parents and kept it as records.
  • Surprise visit are conducted by class coordinators and members of the committees for checking any ragging and sexual harassment issues in campus and hostel.

Grievance Redressal Committee

Objectives:

  • To develop an organizational framework to resolve grievances of students and staff.
  • To provide the students and staff access to immediate, hassle free recourse to have their grievances redressed.
  • To enlighten the students and staff on their duties and responsibilities related to grievance Redressal.
  • To establish structured interactions with students and staff to elicit information, academic and administrative process on their expectations.
  • To identify systemic flaws in the design and administration of various general insurance products and to seek solutions thereon.
  • To institute a monitoring mechanism to oversee the functioning of the grievance redressal policy.

Activities of Grievance Redressal Committee

The Grievance Redressal committee has done following activities:

  • General awareness about the policy and regulations of grievance redressal committee protocol amongst all students.
  • Informing about the objectives and function of the grievance redressal committee to the students.
  • Orientation about committee members, open discussion regarding types of grievance by aggrieved students and procedure.
  • Display of grievance redressal committee members on main notice-board of institute to contact in any case of grievance in the institute.
  • Conducting general redressal committee meeting about rules, policy and awareness information about Grievance Redressal committee activities orientation and its members from each class.
