Foundation of Nursing Department

Aim

The aim of the Foundation of Nursing Department is to provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation in nursing, empowering students with the essential skills, knowledge, and ethical values necessary to deliver high-quality healthcare and contribute to the well-being of individuals and communities.

Objectives

  1. Establish a strong theoretical and practical foundation
    • Equip student nurses with fundamental nursing concepts, principles, and essential clinical skills.
    • Reinforce foundational nursing knowledge for registered nurses and nursing educators to enhance their practice and teaching methodologies.
  1. Promote evidence-based learning and research
    • Encourage and facilitate research activities among nursing students, registered nurses, and faculty to contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge and practice.
    • Support the integration of research findings into clinical practice and nursing education.
  1. Enhance clinical competency and professionalism
    • Provide hands-on training opportunities through simulation labs, clinical exposure, and professional workshops.
    • Foster ethical decision-making, compassionate care, and a patient-centered approach in all aspects of nursing practice and education.
  1. Conduct continuing nursing education (CNE) and workshops
    • Organize CNE programs, workshops, and training sessions to enhance clinical competencies, leadership skills, and teaching effectiveness for nurses at all levels.
  1. Foster national and international collaboration
    • Promote student exchange programs, faculty collaborations, and professional networking opportunities to integrate global best practices into nursing education and practice.
  1. Encourage lifelong learning and professional development
    • Encourage nurses (students, registered staff nurses, and nursing educators) to engage in continuous professional development, attend conferences, and stay updated with emerging trends in nursing.
    • Support career advancement through certifications, higher education, and leadership training programs.
  1. Support academic engagement and knowledge dissemination
    • Actively contribute to organizing and participating in academic conferences, seminars, and publications to enhance knowledge sharing and professional networking.
