Mental Health Nursing Department
Aim
The aim of the Mental Health Nursing Department is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and compassion required to provide holistic care to individuals with mental health conditions, promoting their recovery and well-being through evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions.
Objectives
- To develop a deep understanding of mental health disorders, their causes, symptoms, and treatment options.
- To train students in the application of evidence-based nursing practices for the assessment, care, and rehabilitation of individuals with mental health issues.
- To foster critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in students to effectively manage complex mental health situations and crises.
- To promote therapeutic communication skills and empathy in dealing with patients suffering from mental health conditions.
- To prepare students to work in various mental health settings, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and community-based programs.
- To emphasize the importance of mental health advocacy, reducing stigma, and promoting mental well-being in society.
- To instill a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the evolving field of mental health nursing.
